The Toronto Eaton Centre kicks off the holidays in style with The Chic Canuck!

The Toronto Eaton Centre recently kicked off the holiday season in style with a little help from The Chic Canuck team and our adorable holiday tree! The family-friendly launch event produced a mix of notable visitors, from kids to fashion and lifestyle bloggers, "Buddy the Beaver" from Roots Canada, the Toronto Raptors' mascot and cheerleaders, Twitter Canada and many others. And of course, the guest of honour, the jolly man in red himself was on hand to greet us all and pose for pictures.

This year's holiday line-up at TEC is fun and festive, with Santa's Log Cabin at the centre of all the action. Located in Trinity Square (just outside of Mercatto Trattoria), it's an insulated, custom-built log cabin where you can enjoy scheduled visits and photos with Santa Claus in a cozy holiday space that still smells of fresh-cut wood.

There's also the super chill, high-tech "Urban Lodge" equipped with a relaxing digital fire, cushy seating for lounging, free WiFi and convenient charging stations. It's the ideal respite from the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, when both your energy levels and smartphone batteries are drained and running low.

This year also saw the introduction of the new Christmas Tree Maze, a playful arrangement of over 200 pine trees to navigate and explore. Speaking of trees...our gorgeous Chic Canuck Tree can be seen outside of Santa''s Cabin straight through the holidays until December 23rd. Adorned with custom-made ornaments designed by our very own creative guru Brooke King, we think the tree beautifully captures everything we love about the holidays in Canada - sparkling snowflakes, maple leaves, our favourite colours (white and red) and symbols of Canadian culture and heritage.

We see it as a chic and modern take on Canadiana, but you be the judge! Be sure to check it out on your next trip #TOtheCity along with all the Toronto Eaton Centre has to offer this month. We're loving their holiday decor, which includes a 50-foot tree and no less than five giant LED Reindeer - because, you know, Santa's going to need some high-tech help delivering all those fabulous gifts.
