Ring in the New Year with Canadian Sparkling Wine

Posted: Dec 29 2014

Is one of your New Year's resolutions to support more Canadian businesses? Get started right at midnight with these Canadian-made bottles of bubbly.

Growing up, even before we're old enough to drink, we learn that the sound of a popping cork is synonymous with celebration. And so it is, whether the label is French, Italian or Canadian. As Shakespeare said, a rose would, by any other name, smell as sweet. Likewise, it's not what’s on the bottle, it's the bubbles inside that count.

For your next celebration, you needn't look very far to find great (and – bonus – affordable) options. So when you ring in the New Year, do it with some home-grown Canadian sparkling wine! Ontario’s Niagara Peninsula and British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley are well-known and long celebrated wine regions but in recent years, the East Coast is bursting on the scene with several up-and-coming wine regions in Nova Scotia.
Whether you prefer sweet, dry, white or rose sparkling, there’s a local option for you! Here are some of The Chic Canuck’s top picks:
