The Chic Canuck Team Felt Right At Home When We Found Le Chic Shack in Quebec City. Find Out Why You Need To Eat There Now:
If you follow @TheChicCanuck on Instagram (if you don't, what are you waiting for? Our instagram account is awesome!) you may have noticed our abundance of Quebec City-related posts as of late from our recent trip. And although we fell in love with the city for its beauty, great people and fabulous food and drink, one place we particularly loved is Le Chic Shack on Rue due Fort street.
Can you blame us? The Chic Canuck at Le Chic Shack is a match made in Quebec City heaven!
#TeamTCC is certainly no stranger to Canadian comfort foods like burgers and poutine, we enjoy them just as much as any other Canuck out there. But what's important to us is always the quality of the food we're eating, even when it's 'junk' food.
This is exactly why we were so smitten with Le Chic Shack as soon as we arrived. Our server explained that all of their ingredients are locally sourced and organic as much as possible, with the majority of their ingredients coming from their farm across the river. Even their gourmet burgers are all served on brioche buns created by local artisan baker, Eric Borderon.
From the classic Le Chic beef burger that features local cheddar, house pickles, bibb lettuce, tomato, Chic sauce and maple-smoked bacon, to their Le Jardin burger with a house made veggie patty, there is something to please everyone on their menu. And did we mention their drool worthy poutines made with crispy hand-smashed potatoes, house made sauces and local cheeses? Seriously, this is a poutine like you've never known. Try La Coq au Vin with Bordelaise chicken, red wine sauce, cheese curds, creme fraiche, shallotsm parmesan and fresh tarragon. Or, for a vegetarian option, go with La Forestiere with wild mushroom ragout, parmesan, cheese curds, shallots of fresh herbs.
As if that's not enough to get your belly bursting, Le Chic Shack is also known for their blended-to-order milkshakes with Clara Langhi's artisanal ice cream that come in drool-worthy flavours such as the Salted Maple Caramel with Yukon Jack Whiskey.
Not sure about you, but we're just about ready to jump on a plane and jet back to Quebec City just to eat at Le Chic Shack again. If you're Quebec City-bound, you MUST eat here.
