With WAXON Waxbar Expanding To The East Coast and Opening Its First Location In Halifax, Founder Lexi Miles Shares Her Guide To The City With The Chic Canuck!

Lexi Miles is not only a Canadian blonde bombshell, but she's one bad ass entrepreneur too. In only a few short years she's grown her company, WAXON Waxbar, from its initial Summerhill location in Toronto, to now multiple locations in the city, and most recently an opening in Halifax on Canada's east coast. With no signs of slowing down, we caught up with Lexi to find out where she loves to go when in Halifax. Check out her guide to the city below!

Where To Eat:

agricola cafe halifax

Breakfast: The Coastal Cafe is a great spot in the north end with a relaxed vibe. It's easy going in nature, but the breakfast they serve is nothing short of amazing, their Huevos Rancheros is legendary!

Lunch: Nothing beats a ‘build your own' Petes Frootique salads for a quick bite on-the-go. It's also conveniently located by our newest WAXON Waxbar location! If you’re looking for a more traditional East coast meal, my go-to spot for delicious fish & chips and chowder is downstairs at Salty’s on the water.

Dinner: There are so many fabulous options in Halifax, but I have to say one of my new favourites for dinner and drinks is the Agricola Street Brasserie. I like to describe the feel as 'pub meets romantic chic’. The food is outstanding; somewhat rustic, but with a modern flare.

Where to Drink:

The Coffee: Two If By Sea is my favourite place for a good cup of coffee, latte or loose leaf tea. They have two locations, one in Halifax and Dartmouth. I usually like going to the Dartmouth locations because the ferry ride offers incredible views of the Halifax harbourfront.

The Bar: In the North end, Field Guide's ever-changing menu and personalized cocktails makes it a great place for dinner pre-drinks or a night out with the girls.

The Party: A city with the most bars per capita lends itself nicely to a good night out on the town. Typically my outings start with having a few drinks at any of the great bars on Argyle Street…love the Stubborn Goat. However, without fail I always find myself dancing with a pint of Keith’s in hand to local East Coast talent at the Lower Deck!

Where to Shop:

foreign affair halifax

Mills and Foreign Affair on Spring Garden are great spots when you are looking for that outfit for a special occasion. Sweet Pea and Biscuit are a few trendy boutiques with national brands and some local homegrown talent.

Where to...go for a run or scenic stroll:

point pleasant park halifax

Running and exercise is my way of unwinding or kickstarting my day. It's hard to beat a run through Point Pleasant Park in the South End, with its gorgeous views of the ocean and scenic trails. It is also dog friendly, which is great when I am travelling with my dog CeCe.

And of course if you're wondering were to go for the best wax in Halifax, that would now be at WAXON Waxbar!

Thank you Lexi!!
